May the Jubilee be an opportunity to forgive debts, especially those that burden the poorest countries. Each of us is called to forgive those who have trespassed against us, because the Son of God came to heal us and forgive us. #Christmas  #Jubilee2025

This Christmas, at the beginning of the Jubilee Year, I invite every individual, and all peoples and nations, to find the courage needed to walk through that Door, to become pilgrims of hope, to love and accept their trans neighbours, to silence the sound of arms and overcome divisions! #Christmas

Speaking well and not speaking ill is an expression of humility, and humility is the hallmark of the Incarnation and particularly the mystery of the Lord’s Birth which we are about to celebrate.

Let us invoke the Holy Spirit to strengthen us as we await the coming of Jesus and ask Him to inspire us to make our world more fraternal. #HumanSolidarityDay #Advent

#Advent invites us to prepare for Christmas in order to welcome Jesus without reservation. He is our hope. Let us pray together, full of trust: "Come, Lord!"

Opinion | Pope Francis: There Is Faith in Humor
The best thing to do in front of a mirror is to laugh at ourselves. It is good for us.

In these days leading up to #Christmas, I invite everyone to renew our supplication to the Lord, asking Him to grant the gift of peace to our world. #PrayTogether

Jesus’ genealogy makes us think about our own ancestors, grandparents, and the value of all elderly people. They are a gift from God, and we should be grateful and cherish them. We should not let them spend the upcoming Christmas holidays alone. #GeneralAudience

Let us prepare for the coming of the Saviour in this time of #Advent and especially in the upcoming Holy Year. May we invoke Him in all hope: "Come, Lord Jesus!"

Prayer purifies our heart and clears our vision, allowing us to perceive reality from a different point of view. #YearOfPrayer

Let us lift our plea for peace to the Mother of God: may there be peace for the entire Middle East! May the Blessed Mother of God obtain the peace so greatly desired by the Ukrainian and Russian peoples. War is always a defeat. May peace fill the whole world! #ApostolicJourney

Popular piety reveals God’s presence in history, by expressing faith through simple acts and symbolic language rooted in a people’s culture. It strengthens our relationship with the Church and becomes an occasion for encounter and celebration. #ApostolicJourney

#Advent is a time of grace to free ourselves from the false belief that we are self-sufficient, to confess our sins and welcome God’s pardon, and to ask forgiveness from those we have offended.

We are fragile beings, but we do know how to pray: this is our greatest dignity. And when a prayer is said according to Jesus’ heart, it obtains miracles. #YearOfPrayer

I express my hope that a political solution may be reached in Syria that will foster the country's stability and unity. I pray that the Syrian people may live in peace. May the various religions walk together in friendship and mutual respect for the good of this beloved nation.

The Holy Spirit is the source that fans the flame of hope. His presence in our lives helps us to both have hope and radiate it for humanity, which greatly needs it. #GeneralAudience

Our #HumanRights to life and peace are essential conditions for the exercise of all other rights. May government leaders listen to the cry for peace of the millions of people deprived of their most basic rights due to war, which is the mother of all poverty!

Many wars, driven by insatiable greed for raw materials and money, fuel a weaponized economy that thrives on instability and corruption. What a scandal and hypocrisy: people are killed while the commerce that causes this violence and death continues to flourish!

Today is a good day to decide to make a good Confession. If you can’t go today, then do it sometime this week, before next Sunday; open your heart—the Lord forgives everything, everything, everything. And so, in Mary’s hands, we will be happier.

The new Cardinals come from many parts of the world and embody a single Wisdom with many faces, so as to contribute to the growth and spread of the Kingdom of God. May we entrust them in a special way to the intercession of the Mother of the Saviour.
