I don’t understand why the Greens aren’t pragmatic by supporting bills which broadly align with environmental values, and still fight for the remainder…..
October 23, 2025 at 12:14 AM
Yes. Albo and co should focus on negotiations with the Greens to see how progressive they can be, not negotiating with the “opposition” to see how conservative they can be…..

AFL on Channel 7 is not actually FTA - I will be constantly on the mute button after every goal😎😎
September 27, 2025 at 2:34 AM
No point in Albo meeting Trump - set up a review of AUKUS and get on with running the country…..

Spot on - hypothecated funds for roads under existing arrangements?? You’re dreaming…..

It reinforces the proposition that owning investment property (or several) is a risk free way to accelerate wealth creation.

Yep. Where are the checks and balances in USA??? It’s as though all the grifters have aligned behind Trump and his illusory MAGA, and swamped the swamp.
August 13, 2025 at 12:57 AM
Yes. I wonder when the declaratory, raucous, and ill defined MAGA will be counterbalanced by a “we the people” movement…….
August 11, 2025 at 9:57 PM
Totally agree. Extraordinary how emphatically the public expressed their concern for humanity, and the ability of our democracy to accommodate it

Who are the protagonists in the Gaza “war”? Where is the “war front”? Why are the fatalities children, civilians, the press? Why???
July 25, 2025 at 10:11 PM
I did see a slight glimmer of hope on News 24 where there was an indication that the “progressive” seats could form government in Tasmania against the “conservatives”. Then along came the liberal leader with a claim “we got the most seats”. Odd.

I wonder whether there is an equivalent to “buyers remorse” for those 30% of US who were eligible to vote, and didn’t??
July 19, 2025 at 3:49 AM
I agree. How did half the 70% who voted in the US elections get it so wrong??????
July 17, 2025 at 7:30 AM
Bizarre how this turns out - there is a conservative labor government with a HUGE majority in Parliament.
July 14, 2025 at 1:31 AM
Good call!!!!
July 10, 2025 at 4:29 AM
“The envoy warned that antisemitism in Australia had become more common since the October 7 Hamas terror attack on Israel, and Israel's subsequent invasion of Gaza.”. Then why doesn’t the Israeli government change its approach??????
July 10, 2025 at 3:17 AM
Thanks. Unsurprising - I am not a scientist, but I don’t think you need to be to come to this conclusion.
June 22, 2025 at 7:48 AM
I don’t know why unrealized capital gains which bridge the $3 million super limit limit can’t somehow be carried forward as a liability (perhaps with an interest charge) until retirement age is reached????
May 30, 2025 at 5:43 AM
Thanks Bruce from Canberra. I have been trying to find something positive about the 10 minute event - and your explanation is the best so far…….
April 15, 2025 at 6:38 PM
I find myself wondering about “Make America Great Again” and I was hopeful it was a reference to that state which existed before 1492……
February 25, 2025 at 6:52 AM
Beware. They do become more conservative as they get older. Remember the journalist Paul Kelly??
February 13, 2025 at 11:29 PM
I don’t understand why organisations and corporations are allowed to make contributions to political parties when they don’t vote. Individuals vote.

Dutton doesn’t even have a Project 25.
