I told Tocchet not to dress a hologram in goal, but did he listen? Nooooo...

In that case, definitely Oracle. No way on God's green I'm getting to play with all of the Power Nine otherwise.

If it was a paper cube, I'd draft Recall since it's the only way I'd ever be able to have one in my possession, even temporarily.

Online, Oracle's fun.

Are they, though?

This baseball season is going to be hilarious (derogatory)

That said, in the hellscape future where he somehow oozes his way out of the Democratic primary, his biggest weakness becomes a marginal strength, in that he has no principle but popularity. If nothing else, he can hopefully be browbeaten into doing what is right, in a way Republicans can't be.

Apropos of nothing, Newsom looks eerily like my worst boss, and seems to have roughly the same level of scruples.

Newsom is, at best, a photogenic Chuck Schumer, and must be defeated with all haste. There are so many at least viable candidates out there that we cannot be forced to back this twit.

One of the other networks' morning shows could get some mileage out of an omelette-based "Whisk-y Friday" segment.

I don’t blame them for not wanting to watch a Flyers/Sabres game.

I expect he'd be in NXT, but most of the people that make sense for Hobbs to feud with have been called up, so maybe Ethan Page.

Though Chairith isn't far behind Bombastic Bag Man, if I'm honest.

Having gotten my true Grail card already (foil 7th Edition Counterspell), these are my current "pie-in-the-sky", "entire-bakery-in-the-sky", and "there will be signs" cards.

I would love to know what percentage of Nick deciding to make a change was the lurking suspicion that if he didn't, Lurie would, and Nick would like that change much less.

A fair tradeoff for the Super Bowl win. Better than steady, stable mediocrity.

If I could talk to him in advance, and he agreed to me paying him $99M to stand still and not throw punches for 3 minutes, I'd get in the ring with him.

Between Dilbert and Harry Potter, I've had to break away from some major past influences to maintain a sense of self that I'm happy with. Today is a weird day.

The day we got an internet connection, I registered the SN dilbert719. I used it everywhere, until I could no longer tolerate Adams' behavior. (even then, I haven't been able to change it some places.)

A lot of his humor stuck with me, and is part of why I've never worked in the for-profit sector.

Orson Scott Card gave it his all, but his books were never as commercially successful as all that.
January 13, 2026 at 5:19 PM
He's Deadbert.
January 13, 2026 at 4:10 PM
Any hope of a playoff run was killed by not having anyone suited to playing 1 or 2C on the roster, long before the power play comes into the equation.
January 13, 2026 at 1:55 AM
And way too few "it happened"s.
January 12, 2026 at 6:50 PM
Very much so. From the casinos, to the bankruptcies, to the Apprentice, he's just... been background radiation for decades. I have vague knowledge of 80s/90s British pop culture, and someone who knows more than I will surely find a better comparison, but one that comes to mind is Jeffrey Archer.

Far too many to count, but some I haven't seen as often here:

Ultima: Quest of the Avatar (NES, and specifically the NES version)
Final Fantasy V (Got into it late, but I play this all the time for the Four Job Fiesta)
Lunar: Eternal Blue (Sega CD)
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PC)

I think I'd happily take the guy who managed to win Coach of the Year twice while coaching the Cleveland Browns, of all teams.

Bret/Owen from WM X is my favorite match of all time. I'll always recommend it.
