With that being said there is a sense of wings for the parties. What I mean by this is that it is usually political death for centrist parties, like that of Macron or the Ciudadanos party in Spain, to be open to governing with the opposite political wing even if their party is centrist.

I wonder to what degree this is fruit of a two party system. In most of the EU we end up with those more milquetoast candidates with coalitions with the more fragmented parties with stronger positions. A few examples would be Merz, Macron, Sanchez…

I think it’s the same strategy as any Biden blunder or bad picture to try to denigrate? I don’t think people truly think he looks much worse since he already looked pretty terrible.

Do you have any sources for that? On Wikipedia, statista and other compilations websites, as well as off hands conversations I've had always pointed to Portugal as being the largest by a bit. Thanks!
