Babies weigh around 8lbs when they’re born, and around 20lbs a year later, having eaten mostly milk. They turned milk into 12lbs of flesh, bone, and brain. But Milk is produced by glands that extract nutrients, fat, protein, sugars, and liquid from their mother's blood! Vampires!

Who else is nerdy enough to care about numbers like this? Because I just hit 6,283 Substack Subscribers on Tau day, June 28, 2025! For those non-math Nerds, Tau is 2 x PI and Pi is 3.142. And yes, we hit 3,142 subs on Pi Day, March 14, 2024.

The dangers of trusting ‘consensus’ is that the crowd, writ large, is not always right. You have to ensure you’ve got the right people from within the crowd to best understand complexity. It’s subtle but essential.
