But the ACA had a major impact in peoples lives (including mine!). & Medicare trust fund would have been depleted if not for added taxes on wealthy...providing HC for millions of seniors

Not True..Dems have been accused of catering more to the left & that is what cost them white-working class votes in the election.

& Cheney may be a terrible human being but things are far more extreme on the right wing today...that makes him support dems & we cant afford to be turning votes away.

Also, when dems are in power they get shit done. the 2 years that Dems had control of POTUS/Congress they reigned in medicare costs & increased taxes on wealthy (among others)

The last time they had control of govt they passed the ACA & saved medicare with new taxes on the wealthiest individuals

I understand the appeal of that position. But it's just not relevant. opposition parties hand the country over to a united extreme right wing. for an opposition party to have chance it would have to make idealogical concessions to unite a big tent...aka the Democratic party.
