Within seconds of creating a second account, after my first one was shut down just two days after it was created, my account was closed again. This happened despite the fact that I hadn’t posted anything or followed anyone. I was only in the process of adding a profile photo, yet I received an email claiming that my account was “spam” and that it was “causing harm.” What kind of logic is this? The painful truth is that the account was shut down the moment it became clear it was created from inside Gaza. It seems we are no longer allowed to write or speak about what is happening to us here. They are not afraid of content itself, but of our voices and the reality we carry with us. Millions are spent to silence these voices and to erase the truth. I am exhausted by this platform and by how our photos and videos, which document real suffering, are treated as “violations of community standards,” as if pain itself has become a crime. What is happening is not simple moderation or policy enforcement. It is an attempt to erase our existence and bury the truth. And honestly, this is shameful and unbearably painful. you legitimately could not get me to care a single bit about "falling birth rates" for a myriad of reasons but especially with the way this society treats women and trans people and children in particular sorry. child abuse is just the norm worldwide. let the birth rates fall tbh

Few_Tennis1584 • OP • 1h ago UPDATE #2: They arrested her based on a marijuana possession charge that happened 3 years ago in Texas. She was supposed to have a meeting with immigration in between then and now, but it was canceled and never rescheduled. Her status was recently updated to illegal by the current admin, so that's why they arrested her. She was given two options: 1. Self deport to the country of her choice; she has the pay for the ticket ofc, and likely will not be allowed in back in. 2. Try to fight in court, and she will be moved to a MALE facility while she awaits trial. She could still be deported but the government gets to choose where she goes.

Last week, along with a DDOS attack and exposure of patron email addresses and encrypted passwords, the Internet Archive’s website javascript was defaced, leading us to bring the site down to access and improve our security.  The stored data of the Internet Archive is safe and we are working on resuming services safely. This new reality requires heightened attention to cyber security and we are responding. We apologize for the impact of these library services being unavailable. The Wayback Machine, Archive-It, scanning, and national library crawls have resumed, as well as email, blog, helpdesk, and social media communications.  Our team is working around the clock across time zones to bring other services back online. In coming days more services will resume, some starting in read-only mode as full restoration will take more time.  We’re taking a cautious, deliberate approach to rebuild and strengthen our defenses. Our priority is ensuring the Internet Archive comes online stronger and more secure. As a library community, we are seeing other cyber attacks—for instance the British Library, Seattle Public Library, Toronto Public Library, and now Calgary Public Library.
