From what I heard, the demo is the prologue of the game, which is a few hours long, which makes it a pretty good chance to see if the game strikes a chord with you or not. The Trails games are long and story/character heavy, so the demo is a pretty good test to see if its your thing or not.

The original game had a grid-based tactical system. Then later entries added ways to attack enemies on the overworld to gain advantage or just kill them if you were tough enough. By the time of the Daybreak games, they'd ended up with a hybrid action system that lets you drop into tactical combat...

It's sad, but I'm afraid it's a course that's going to be really hard to reverse. Theaters got more expensive so people only want to go for big event movies now. And now the expectation is set that you'll be able to watch it at home after a month.

The Prince of Darkness raised over $190 million for Parkinson's research and for several children's hospitals. With all the retrospectives that came with it, the whole thing felt like a wake while he was still alive. Which is appropriately metal.
