Interested in Australian political posts, detest Regressives. Survivor but politicised , traumatised by Pentagon Papers, Watergate, Vietnam War, Kerr’s Coup. Failed to mellow with age. Let out on special occasions. Forever topping up the optimism moat.
Very funny, not to mention clever…. oops!
Thanks for many chuckles.

Can I take personal climate action & be nominated as an honorary penguin to assist -free of charge- the Penguin Revenge Climate Tribunal. Problem -who can nominate me?
But Yes, Mr Dog, the 31st COP just proves the previous 30 COPS were ineffective. Too many snouts in the trough for change?

Thanks for the link - good article. Simplistic rubbish to say renewables have made electricity dearer - and it protects the high profits of retailers. Look over there away from who’s profiting at your expense!

ALP’s massive (2 Party Preferred) majority misrepresents the (primary voting) electorate? That’s called a preferential voting system, that is getting more credit than ever from local & o’seas political scientists/analysts.
The preferential voting system only seems to be a problem to those who lose.

Spot on. This a climate change denier’s version of lemmings over a cliff. Bette Davis said “Fasten your seat belts, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.” This is an LNP electoral car crash. Seat belt semantics & speedy MSM emergency services can’t save them. Like Howard, Dutton has left ‘em with nothing.
November 13, 2025 at 3:43 AM
ALP is woeful on environment except renewables/EV’s/batteries. BUT suggest you talk to Sally McManus. Completely betrayed? Others-“done nothing for ordinary people?” Wage theft (everywhere when LNP in govt) & industrial manslaughter now a CRIMINAL offence, Super (theft) now to be paid fortnightly +

Oh purleese. Wilson is a House of Reps member. When it sits - bugger all days of the year - he is obliged to be representing his constituents in Canberra. Most people would love to be on his salary. He would be the first to whinge about workers seeking a public holiday. One rule for him/the elite?
November 6, 2025 at 2:00 PM
Like James Paterson, Tim Wilson is another expulsion from the bowels of the IPA. Somehow, MSM merrily defines him these days as an LNP moderate! He doesn’t want to work in Canberra on Melb Cup day? Galling for him to be in Canberra ( no holiday) than be in his Vic electorate with a public holiday?

Julia Zemiro’s “Crime Night” features two professional criminologists - true! plus 2 guest comedians. Entertaining! When was the last TV show you saw that featured criminologists? Well, they do do rely on evidence & data, which undermines MSM sensation/anxiety. All episodes available on ABC iView.

Very good. Thanks for the chuckle. Very touching scene when Rickman said this to please a dying ‘believer’.
November 6, 2025 at 1:35 PM
Galaxy Quest! WHAT a great under-rated movie! Tim Allen at his peak, Alan Rickman, and Sigourney Weaver, parodying Star Trek and sci fi movies generally. Rickman given great dialogue to sling off at his egotistical co-star, Tim Allen, reviving an old Hollywood comedic technique. Fun from Wo to Go!

Great shot!
Looks like the koala asked you: “How would you like me to pose?”

Thks for link. Pocock’s article on the ludicrous lack of identification & control of lobbyists accessing parliament, is spot on. Business’s ‘Voice to Parliament’, who gave them access & why, who they see, when and for how long, is shrouded in secrecy. Why? Lobbying is politics ‘dirty little secret’.

Wow, looked this up - I thought pressurisation 20 mins after take-off meant there’d be more damage. Wkipedia reports “flight had been delayed before departure, so at the time of the explosion the aircraft was not yet at cruising altitude & the cabin was not yet fully pressurized.” 81 people lucky!

Thanks for the chuckle.

A paint to cool roofs by 6C!! QLD LNP broke an election promise & intend to concrete over Victoria Park grassland/trees for an Olympic stadium, a massive concrete forecourt/surrounds & transport hub. LNP will create a huge inner city heat trap. Maybe the LNP can ‘greenwash’ it with this product.

Thks for link. So Trump cancels domestic food aid & finds $40 billion to prop up a right wing Argentinian govt going to the polls. But only…if he -Trump’s close ally, Argentina’s President Milei -wins. “ If he loses, we are not going to be so generous.” A direct bribe/threat/ election interference.

What? More extreme weather events, regularly? Who would have thought! No wait - NASA’s James Hansen addressed a US Senate committee in 1988 & defined the dangers in accumulated carbon emissions & dire scenarios for the future. 1988! A strong political response? Well overdue. A commercial response?

BSky text limitations but HoR qt? Okaay! Ley quoted the dishonourable Sky News member, Sharri Markson in the House of Reps question time. Sky After Dark (with text -and multiple- limitations) is SAD. Albo’s t-shirt excited Ley & SAD. Anything to shift focus from Albo’s unarguable success with Trump.

Can we rent her? I’d love to have a break from lawn mowing in our Briz summer.

Niiiice Dana. Added to my day. Thanks.

Ley’s t-shirt - “No Joy, Just Division” is brilliant.
For an album titled t-shirt, it seems Supertramp’s “Crisis, What Crisis” would suit Ley.
Album artwork of a guy sunbaking in a deckchair under his umbrella, drink handy, amid an industrial wasteland belching pollution, fits Ley well.

Thanks for the Graeme Samuels footage. Ex environment minister Ley rec’d his report. It recommended a new act, a new regulator with enhanced penalty power, new depart’l responsibilities, greater consultation with indigenous people, faster approvals. Ley only promoted faster approvals, did nothing.

ABC Briz Radio today keen to talk about extending the national electricity grid ( from Townsville) to Mt Isa - no mention of expected taxpayer funding to do that. No mention of a new federal taxation scheme, since precious minerals not covered by the PRRT. State Royalties? We won’t be fooled again?
