Political Prozac
@politicalprozac.bsky.social
Dad, husband, lobbyist, Democrat, obscenity fan.
There is a certain group that says we should ignore this because it doesn’t matter and he’s doing all sort of evil shit policy wise. Which is fair.

But this kind of shit poisons the brain of our country which I think may be more important and damaging than anything.

His entire fact base are just loosely stitched together and misremembered plot points from old movies.
December 15, 2025 at 1:39 PM
Of course he did. And let’s be honest. There isn’t a huge amount of space between moderate Dems and leftists on most issues. It’s usually just a matter of degrees.
December 13, 2025 at 9:17 PM
lol. If Bernie’s policies were so universally popular he’d win an election outside of Vermont.

So I guess you’ll never be getting that quote about wanting to kill minorities?

Can you show me the quote of wanting to kill minorities? Thanks.
December 13, 2025 at 4:54 PM
And in all fairness I pick on the lefties. But the centrist morons in the party do the same thing. It’s just instead of saying “UBI will lead to 100 years of democratic rule” it’s more “outlawing trans people will lead to 100 years of democratic rule”
December 13, 2025 at 4:02 PM
My biggest annoyance is anytime Dems lose an election, there are a number of people that have never worked in politics or been in a campaign that are completely convinced they know the exact reason why we lost. Oddly it always lines up perfectly with their own pet issues.

You think Biden won because he put a bullet on his website about the PRO act? Not the fact that he exuded general competence after years of nightmarish behavior from our president?

Was there a big pro worker policy that got Trump back into office? Or was it good old fashioned racism. Be real.
December 13, 2025 at 3:50 PM
Yes. There are a list of his policies. And they are good policies. Those aren’t the things that moved voters. Literally not a single person was “man I’m 100% for Trump but then Biden supported the PRO act!
December 13, 2025 at 3:47 PM
And yet polls showed the most important issues to voters in 2024 were high taxes and immigration.
December 13, 2025 at 3:41 PM
The top issues for voters in 2020 was Covid followed by Racism. Biden’s plan for Covid was universal testing and contract tracing. Both of which were good! But I sense the average swing voter wasn’t thing about program specifics more than “Trump fucked this up, try someone else”
December 13, 2025 at 3:38 PM
What policy was Biden offering that really made a difference? Or Obama for that matter?
December 13, 2025 at 3:34 PM
When you think about it I can’t recall a policy focused person making it out of either primary.
December 13, 2025 at 3:30 PM
Sorry. 15 not 20. But regardless…a lot.
December 13, 2025 at 3:25 PM
The voters processed emotions. Not policy.
December 13, 2025 at 3:25 PM
Take Virginia for example. Terry Mac was a successful governor running on a solid liberal platform. He lost to a dipshit screaming about trans people.

4 years later things were bad. Spanberger runs on a center left platform which wasn’t as left as Terry. She wins by 20.
December 13, 2025 at 3:24 PM
That’s not it at all. I want Democrats to win so they can pass good legislation to help people. But I think the road to winning is more emotional based and more based on exploiting the weaknesses of the other side.
December 13, 2025 at 3:22 PM
Obama won because he offered people inspiration. He was also running at a time where things were terrible and almost any Democrat would have likely won. Nobody wins on their white papers.
December 13, 2025 at 3:20 PM
Even if we did get universal healthcare passed (which to be clear, we should because it’s good policy). Best case scenario it just becomes something people expect. It won’t move votes.

Medicaid is a great and important program. After its passage we had 4 Republican presidents and one D.
