Here's the breakdown of comment reactions to Trump snubbing Cheryl Hines, categorized by theme. The most common sentiments fell into three groups: that she deserved it due to complicity, that Trump is petty or repulsive, and that people felt no sympathy at all.

Makes perfect sense to stop illegal smuggling of goods and drugs by decreasing the availability of goods and drugs through tariffs. Does not at all create new incentives and markets for border smuggling.

It’s a nonsensical statement to say that if he’s correct… correct for who? What are you a billionaire? Is he correct for you? Makes no sense. He’s definitely not correct for the working class or for my 401(k). Giving this type of bully and moron this possibility is morally wrong and a bad tactic.

NSA has always had access to social media. What’s happening here is a claim of formalization of scanning everyone’s accounts. Doesn’t make much sense to me because they don’t need to let people know this other than performative politics.

Same as others here, but seriously: how did this guy amass $200m? Crypto? Sell a startup? What did he do?

It’s not about which party is in power—it’s about whether the people still have a say at all.

That’s the real crisis we need to confront.

That’s not just bad governance—it’s an indictment of how much unchecked power we've allowed the executive branch to accumulate.

The real crisis is that a single individual can unilaterally disrupt the economy, global trade relations, and domestic job markets with almost no oversight. One person, with a pen, can override decades of policy, bypass Congress, and ignore long-term consequences.

It’s easy to get caught up in debating whether Trump’s latest tariffs are good or bad economics. But the deeper issue isn't about trade—it’s about power.

But they’re made irrelevant when a president can simply override them all.

This isn’t just a policy failure. It’s a democratic failure. If decisions of this magnitude don’t go through deliberation, oversight, or public input, then we’re not living in a functioning democracy.

Yes, we can and should have serious, good-faith debates about manufacturing vs. subcontracting, free markets vs. protectionism, and how to balance jobs, wages, and consumer choice. Those conversations are happening—in unions, think tanks, and academic circles.

Does not even matter that sales are down or up in the US. Internationally, in China and the EU it's too expensive and has a fascist branding. Those markets alone will kill the company unless it goes chapter 7 and re-organizes only for US markets.
