I would think the WI could amend their articles of association to fix this. It’s not that hard to do—they would draft the change to the articles, have the board approve and file the change with the charity commission.

Actually, most of us need to get pre approval from our health insurance company before receiving advanced imaging. And it’s often denied.

If Republicans really wanted to run government like a business they would be trying to expand government revenues, not cut them. They would want to grow and expand government, not cut it back. How do people fall for this argument with the obvious contradictions?

Republican representatives get away with blatant lies because Republican voters are so filled with hate they fall for any lie they hear, no matter how ridiculous. It gives them cover by creating a justification, other than unbridled hate, for their opinions and support for policies that cause harm.

I’d like to see Republicans screaming about colleges having an ideological viewpoint address Liberty University next. Isn’t its mission of “training champions for Christ” an ideology? If you weren’t a hypocrite that would also be condemned as indoctrination.

My insurer pressures me to use their on line pharmacy, offering cheaper prices. But that would mean I need to rely on mail to get my meds and it is not reliable. This is another money/power grab that only benefits the billionaires who want to own and control everything.

A lot of people in her district are unhappy over how she has essentially abandoned them while she was waiting for confirmation. She’s always been more focused on national politics and Trump than local issues but it looks like a lot more people have realized it recently.

When my kids were little they had a flashlight and a book by their beds. If they couldn’t sleep, they could read all they wanted. They continue to be readers as adults.

The spending was to help many people, to create new good paying jobs, advance innovation and recover from the pandemic. This is in contrast to Rs who turn back innovation, actively harm the vulnerable in order to help only the richest, all while reducing debt.

It appears DOGE is operating under a directive that the entire US govt is nonessential. The list of govt buildings to be sold as nonessential include DOJ, FBI, HUD, VA, many health sites. And there is now a goal to end hundreds of leases a day. We need to be asking what the end goal actually is.
