If your 10x-great-grandparent or whatever was an immigrant, THAT MEANS YOU HAVE IMMIGRANT *HERITAGE*. Nobody is saying that means that you yourself are an immigrant—not even the original quote you're responding to. What the fuck is your problem?

JFC. So your ancestors in and after 1602 were born on the American continent (the US didn't exist in 1602). But these ancestors ALSO had parents and grandparents, yes? Those parents and grandparents, etc. are ALSO your heritage! And if they weren't born on the American continent, they IMMIGRATED.

My best friend's mom, who is now in her 80s, has walked with a pronounced limp since childhood because of polio. She can move her both her legs and one foot, but she can't lift or move her other foot at all. WTF is wrong with people?!

I had it myself at age 13 despite being vaccinated—without vaccination I likely would have died. Yes, it's utterly unforgettable. I will never understand parents who allow their children to suffer needlessly this way.

I was vaccinated, but had pertussis at age 13. I coughed so hard I fell out of chairs and I'll never forget the sound of each tortured inhalation between coughing fits. Without vaccination I almost certainly would have died. People who willingly subject their kids to this are guilty of child abuse.
