Over three days, more than 90 researchers from 14 countries —Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, Panama, Ecuador, United States, Spain, Cuba, and China— engaged in dialogue through 20 thematic panels.

Looking back, the First IAMCR Latin American Regional Conference on Political Communication (held at BUAP, Puebla, Mexico) was more than an academic meeting —it was the moment a regional community truly came together.

Beyond the numbers, the true strength of the section lay in the quality of the debates and the diversity of perspectives, reaffirming Political Communication as one of the most vibrant and comparative communities within IAMCR.

What made the programme remarkable was its breadth: we had contributions from Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America, and Africa. Case studies ranged from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China to Portugal, Tanzania, India, Chile, Australia, West Africa, among others.

In IAMCR Singapore 2025, the Political Communication Section stood out for the richness and diversity of its programme. Over the course of the conference, 54 papers were presented, bringing together more than 70 researchers in a series of thought-provoking exchanges.
