The problem with assuming that a fall in demand from UK consumers is deflationary is the assumption that we make our own goods so those prices can fall. We have a government that makes it very hard to lower employment costs and the price of the basic raw material, energy, is unlikely to fall.

I can't see what the issue is.

Denmark should simply hand Greenland to the USA, as the USA is closer and they've asked nicely, along with an extra €10 billion to keep the USA happy, following Britain's marvellous example with the Chagos islands.

UK inflation.

Rising long term borrowing rates- inflationary.
Falling currency- inflationary
Taxes on employment- inflationary.
Higher State wages- inflationary.
Renewable energy- inflationary.
School VAT-inflationary.

And now fossil fuels.
Oil prices are going up fast - really inflationary.

Have a most wonderful Christmas my friends.

Family, feasts, laughs, socks from Auntie Maud and mounds of torn wrapping paper!

Best wishes and joy to you all.

If you've read Dan McCrum's book on Wirecard, you'll know Jan Marsalek's name. He basically ran the Wirecard scam.

Now he's names as Mastermind of the Russian spy ring just busted in the UK.

Productivity started declining when HR depts hit their Skynet 'Judgement Day' and began running things rather than serving.

Increase productivity by getting rid of 75% of HR personnel and reversing their title to 'Staff Department'

Friday knob rant.

We all know cars need more knobs and less flat touchy things, but electric kitchen hobs need a shout out.

Multipress combos to change heat, all of which fails when wet. Just fit knobs!

Reminds me of the classic Yes Minister episode where Sir Humphrey argues that hospitals are much easier to run without patients.
