I’ve recently experimented with grok ai. I gave it a stained glass window of Moses in the bullrushes to analyse. It identified the person with a crown as Moses mother, and the much older woman as his sister. Given a Fra Angelico annunciation fresco, it described the much more famous work.

Don’t forget that Bezos profits from CSA images. Most of that is created by slightly older siblings, and their friends. The stuff is bought by payment of Amazon gift cards. One wonders how Amazon can not notice that kids are being sent $1000 gift cards from loads of adults.

The way that the internet has grown up has been monopolistic. We have companies that data mine what you read, where you go, what you watch, what you search for, if this was govt we’d be up in arms. Frequently they supply govt with the data anyway, and use it to manipulate opinion. 1/2

Perhaps but I’ve yet to see them not support the tech industry in preference to the common man. Particularly when it comes to the tech industries bottom line. In cases where they have they have been the beneficiary of any compensation.

They did the analysis afterwards and found that Brexit got over the line b/c of xenophobes. To appease them they had to ditch single market.

Liked the 3rd of those. Often I’d see software engineers struggle to make an idea work. They’d eventually get something working, but it rarely scaled, and made other things sub-optimal. Had they junked the initial design when they 1st found issues and reset the end result would have been better.

Our village had on of those, and then we didn’t. Our nearest town had a police station open to tge public but now it doesn’t and the nearest one is 20 miles away.
