I like mouse and keyboard, but I was getting awful cramps in my hand from mashing 1234 all the time so I got an MMO mouse. It took like a week to get used to but it's amazing and I would struggle to play the game without it now.

It's pretty good. I bound the touchpads to move the mouse, and one of the paddle buttons to Sprint. It takes some setting up but there's even a build of XIVLauncher for steam deck.

Some of my friends do this but with bad f2p MMOs and then they quit in 6 weeks and I play for 3 more years in an empty guild

This also makes a jillion extra web requests to the server and makes your backend/operations people hate you, it's super lazy not to debounce/delay it a little on the frontend
