I feel like there was still a lot the show could’ve done with their characters & storylines, rather than wrapping them up in a rush so we could move onto the timeskip. I wonder what Horizons would look like now if that was the case!

i genuinely don’t think the anime has ever managed to hit me as hard as XY’s farewells did, ever since. it was just so much and so peak 😭

in hindsight it really bothers me that the whole of the battle frontier arc was set in kanto, and yet we saw almost zero returning characters from ash’s kanto journey… it would’ve been SUCH a perfect opportunity to bring back gym leaders, one-off filler characters, etc!
