So, what you're saying is that when Thune first proposed a guaranteed vote on October 16, the Dems could have agreed to it then & saved Americans three weeks of needless suffering? That there was no real commitment to extend the subsidies? That this was just a political ploy to win the elections?

Securing a promise to vote on something knowing the inevitable outcome is as pointless as getting the Reps on record. By the time the midterms come, the only thing anyone will remember is that the Dems are as feckless & cowardly as ever. Harris learned what it means when Dems sits out the election.

The ACA Covid subsidies are still necessary to compensate for rising healthcare prices which Congress will do nothing about. Trump reversed several Biden EOs intended to investigate ways to further reduce drug costs and strengthen ACA funding. If they can't repeal ACA, they'll make it unaffordable.

Can't. While in office, he can only be impeached and removed with a House majority & 67 Senate votes. To remove for unfitness under the 25th Amendment, it would take two-thirds vote of both House & Senate & a majority vote of the cabinet. Once he leaves office, he's nearly immune from prosecution.
