From horror to Hallmark, I love movies!

Also music, cats, and books. Co-host of Dan and Frankie Go To Hollywood.

Ended the week with the biggest disappointment of the year, which was very unexpected as so many people love it - and I loved Barbarian!

Hanging out with these guys, doing a bit of reading before I sleep. Such a nice way to end a day 🥰

Exciting mail day - my next Albert Brooks film! And since I was ordering from Indicator I had to get their recent Al Pacino release of course!

My Cooper is doing well after a procedure on Tuesday. Has to wear a collar as he has some stitches and I'm surprised (and glad) that he doesn't seem at all bothered by it.

Today I watched Real Life - my first Albert Brooks film! Really enjoyed it and found him fascinating. Modern Romance has been on my watchlist for ages and now it gets high priority because I must watch all his films now.

On a strict budget right now (I thought the horror of the month would be the movies I'm watching but turns out it's vet bills as well), but I decided to treat myself to a book. Heard good things about this and I was instantly sold on riding giant lizards (& the beautiful cover!)

Day 6 of my #31daysofhorror gave me my favourite film so far this month - Crabs!

I've been so stressed lately I needed to go with a comedy today & I had such a good time with this! Likeable characters, made me laugh out loud, had so much charm (& a cute guy) - I recommend!

First 4 days of my #31daysofhorror

1. The Ghost of Yotsuya (1959)
2. The Bloodhound (2020)
3. Popcorn (1991)
4. This Night I'll Possess Your Corpse (1967)

Today's film was my favourite so far, Coffin Joe is such a fascinating character and this film was even better than the first.

This set looks amazing though it's a bit too pricey for me but thank you Heath, for recommending A Masterpiece in Disarray. I didn't know this book existed, had to pause to look it up straight away. Found it (blue version now) and purchased right away! It just turned up. Beautiful!

It's been a pretty good week.

I've only seen two PTA films - I know, I know, I need to prioritise some more - and based on them I have no idea what to expect with One Battle After Another (which I should be seeing today if all goes to plan) 😂

I just watched Get Carter and just like with Le Cercle Rouge, all I can think about is how cool the movie is. But where Le Cercle Rouge was big on style, this is gritty. I really enjoyed it. No matter what Jack did, I'm looking at Michael Caine thinking 'you're so cool'. Great ending too.

JB have started their annual horror 'buy 2 get 1 free' sale so I picked up a few recent favourites for my collection.

When I looked up Huckleberry Hound on Amazon to see if it was available for me there I saw this - which has to be your influence, surely! 😄

Starting a Christmas village this year! (buying this early because I had the chance to visit a Christmas store today).

Seven songs into this and absolutely loving it.

I'm trying not to purchase movies this month (besides pre-ordering Radiance titles which I do every month), so of course it's the month I find out about these, which I really want to order right now!

I decided to go ahead with Shannon September! Day 1: Vanilla Sky

He's not in this much, but I really loved it the first time I watched it (Shannon September 2022) and have been wanting to watch it again for ages.

Oh, it's the 1st of September which means I'm thinking about doing Shannon September again (watching a Michael Shannon movie every day for the month). I only did it once a few years ago, daily movies are a struggle. But...it's Michael Shannon. My favourite actor...

Kicked off a new movie project yesterday - watching all of John Leguizamo's films. In order. I was quite pleased to discover when making the list that it was a nice even 100.

Here's my upcoming films. Have researched the first 40 & only 2 seem beyond reach, which is pretty good for older films.

So, since I started exploring Bruce Springsteen's music in June I've become quite obsessed (with no support from family or friends 😂) and have begun building my collection.

Last month of winter and it's starting to get lighter earlier again. Finally got back to morning beach walks and seeing sunrise there at 6:30am is so much nicer than catching a bus at 6:30am to go to work (I hope to never go back to being in the office full-time).

Just delivered 😁

Ooh, so glad we got this here straight away too! I didn't know 'episode 1' was going to be a 2.5 hour movie so I need to leave it until later in the day to watch, but I'm very much looking forward to it!

Oh, this is so pretty (can't capture it so well in a photo), I wasn't expecting it!

I don't venture into pop too often, but I really like this album.
