In this performance, Ellen and Kate Bateman played Richard and Richmond, respectively, while Julia Jones played Prince Edward and Miss Schoolcraft played the Duke of York. The Bateman sisters were famous for playing these roles as young girls, with prints like these capturing their performances.

Today, we added 11 records for performances of Cymbeline in London, New York, Nottingham, and Washington, DC from 1806-1897. ✨ These records include our first for Nottingham and Washington, and have helped us reach 100 theatres represented in our database! 🎩 Our theatre map is steadily growing! ⤵️

Among these performances were two of the artist Helen Thornycroft as Julia in The Two Gentlemen of Verona at a private performance at 21 Wilton Place in London. This performance featured her artist family in the cast and even had what appeared to be a hand-drawn playbill. ✨🎩
