There's a LOT of psychological effort put into obscuring law enforcement (or military) from seeing the humanity of those they enforce upon.
Realizations DO happen, but it's often not as obvious or quick as one would think or hope.

I think what should be a strength has turned into a weakness.
Like, to get Spider-Man, all you should need to know is that he is a guy with spider powers. And the benefit is you don't need to explain that.
Now its all like, is it Spider-Man #3 from world 37b or Spider-Man #37 from world 32a?
