This isn't aesthetics exactly, but everywhere I go people are wearing American university hoodies, "vintage" Americana t shirts, Hallenstein's and a bunch of other chains are selling American sports team gear...my mind boggles

Pens are probably the most mundane product I miss from back home. I can't find pens in this shape anywhere and I keep forgetting to buy a box when I visit (which is rarely). Bah humbug!
