It’s #POTSAwarenessMonth and while POTS isn’t rare, it is rarely talked about. As a mom of kid with POTS, I am encouraged that research is being done, but we need more. COVID has triggered POTS in folks and we need real treatments. Learn more at www.nhlbi.nih.gov/news/2022/re...

Wittman is again, spreading disinformation about the Big Bullshit Bill. Here's the truth behind his untruths. Wittman is not honest with #VA01 and has to be voted out in 2026. 1/🧵

People ask me why I’m speaking out against ICE at the courthouse. Well, here’s another reason. This is what happens when you take people without a warrant, without due process, without real probable cause. Will my congressperson speak out against this at least?

My parents relied on this assistance when I was a kid. Cuts to this program while grocery prices increase so billionaire GOP donors can get a tax break is cruel. Where’s my congressman who swore he was protecting the vulnerable? Spoiler: he’s hiding from constituents since he voted for this mess.
The GOP tax bill cuts SNAP (nutrition assistance) benefits for over 204,000 Virginians. Yesterday I toured Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank to highlight their critical work and heard powerful stories from SNAP recipients about how important SNAP is. I will always work to protect this vital program.

So Rob Wittman lied and voted to cut Medicaid and Medicare while pretending he protected it somehow and now it comes out the same bill will hurt rural farmers and small business owners AND make it harder to access food. Make it make sense 🥴

Trump's budget bill is on the verge of transforming how America eats
The drastic policy shifts will make it harder on those who grow food — and on those struggling to afford to eat.

Is anyone surprised Rep. Wittman voted in favor in this massive cut to Medicare, Medicaid, and SNAP in spite of saying he wouldn’t? No? Me either. Predictable for someone with his record of voting for what’s best for Musk/Trump instead of his constituents. Truly disgusting and indefensible.
turns out the GOP budget bill adds so much to deficits that it will automatically trigger cuts to Medicare (not just Medicaid).
Older voters unlikely to be happy about this when word gets out

I can’t wait to hear all the excuses about why Republicans vote in favor of this bill. The truth? They are all afraid to stand up for us and prefer to stand with autocrats and billionaires. This is personal.

My deepest condolences to Rep. Connolly’s family as they grieve this loss and remember his life. He was a true public servant who lived out his values.

This bill is a disaster. Let’s see how my representative votes because he keeps telling everyone he won’t vote to cut Medicaid 🙄. I’ll believe that when I see it.
When you attack Medicaid, rural hospitals suffer.

We need to be doing more to protect and expand access to care in Virginia’s rural communities. This Republican tax bill will do the opposite.

Republicans are willing to fight for their billionaire buddies to pay less taxes, but are ok cutting funding to programs that millions of Americans rely on — programs we pay for — and reducing services to vets. This is corruption defined. It is past time for real representation for the people.

Another day, another illegal action by an unelected billionaire to take the power of Congress while my Congressman (Wittman) and his cowardly friends refuse to take action. Making Americans less safe is a great way to tell your constituents you don’t give a shit.

And what is my congressman, Rob Wittman, doing? Letting Elon Musk fire VA hospital staff, voting for a budget and bills that hurt Americans, and avoiding constituents who don’t agree with him. We need a public servant who knows how to fight for all of us, not just his billionaire friends.
In the first 100 days since Trump took office, prices have skyrocketed, the stock market has tanked, and America is more isolated and vulnerable than ever before.

So what exactly have House Republicans been doing to help? Let’s take a look 🧵

Firing the people and shuttering the programs who help the most vulnerable children is beyond cruel.
HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. dismissed all of the staff that had distributed $1.7B annually in Social Services Block Grant funds, which many states had depended on for their child welfare, foster care and adoption systems.
The Trump Administration’s War on Children
The administration is quietly putting America’s children at risk by cutting funds and manpower for investigating child abuse, enforcing child support payments, providing child care and much more.
