In the gift of its stillness, we find things we didn't know we were looking for as we ask ourselves questions that feel like they belong to someone else. There are so many love songs floating across the dust, and in the stillness we find the ones written for us and us alone.

There are few places on earth where you can sit with yourself so gently, few flavors of the dirt that so lovingly ask you to steep yourself in silence. The desert is a meditation, a quiet reflection of all that we do or do not know.

there exists a multitude of moments that challenge the limits of our understanding. We forget that we need to be still, that the speed of the world hurtling past us is unnatural. Day by day, as it all blurs further, we build a tolerance to the turbulent momentum of modernity.

Stillness in itself is not enough, it must be met with a willingness to be still. When you find yourself alone in a canyon, away from the wind and the swaying of sage, or awake at dawn, reporting for duty in the brief moment before the earth wakes up,
