Steeping love

I’m reading a book
About two lovers,
Who share a love of literature.
I lower my book as my lover does,
I find life imitates art so nicely.
Maybe someone will read will read about our love story someday.

I will make myself a prophecy
That suits me well.

With brown eyes,
The color of coffee in the morning,
My wake up call,
To enjoy the stillness of domesticity,
Ground me in your soil,
Let me hear your heart beat,
A thrumming through me,
A call to love,
To look in your eyes
And be loved in full.

No snow on the ground,
But cheer in our hearts,
A simple warmth spreads between loved ones,
One of knowledge and devotion,
Familial love strengthens the bond,
Fresh eyes look towards a new year,
Hand in hand,
Drinking in the festivities,
And embracing each other.
