Long ago before I remembered
forget-me-nots
knots
before I knew he was dying
long ago, planting orange
just for beauty

orange and blue cradled
remembered
nine years later,
blooming
for him
only a standing stone
of memory

Day by day
around the clock
it gets worse
my apologies
to the world
we are and will resist

While you were looking at an unreliable
ground hog, a hog of the ground an earth hog,
just there making sense of a shadow
the could easily lie,
on the day Brigid comes
arrives with the promise of spring,
the cross quarter of peace.
