I was disappointed when Travel Hacker was no more, but Mildly Informed is a lot of fun. Obviously loved the Tottenham segment a lot, but the waxed nose and dry cleaning had me giggling.

The accent definitely fits, but in the context of slow horses it’s used as a device to deceive those around him and make him appear less clever than he clearly is. It’s also a show based in actual London, so I guess they need a few Londoners!
