Fortnite suffered a farrr worse fate imo, you still get respectful stuff coming out for tf2 and 99% of the maps are in line with the valve maps and use pre-existing aassets. But on fortnite you cant go back to old maps (usually) and new skins are way out of line with the initial, unique artstyle
