People from Mexico and South America, from the Philippines and China and Japan and Korea and Vietnam, from the Pacific Islands and from Africa and the Middle East and India and Persia and too many other places to mention make California the rich, UNALTERABLY diverse place it is.

The economies of California and northern Mexico have always been entwined. Twenty-eight percent of Caliifornians today speak Spanish! Immigration is one of the major sources of California's success.

Compare this to Donald Trump, whose grandfather was born IN BAVARIA and only came to the United States in 1885. Or his grandmother who came in 1905. Or his mother who came from Scotland in 1930. Or his wife who came from Slovenia in 2006. Trump is the newcomer!

California has been a state for 175 years, since 1850. Only two years before that it was part of Mexico, and the descendants of those Mexicans and of the indigenous Americans are among us, both as part of our communities and in the names of our cities and places.
