Formed over thousands of years, the #texture of Honeycomb Rock has been pitted by salt crystals and erosion.
Taken on my solo trip last year to Isle of Skye. Always talk to the locals, this was my favorite day of my adventure made possible by simply talking to a man playing fetch with his dog.

“Fallen” this weathered tree continues to become more textured each year after spending the winter under 50+ feet of snow.

1st official post on Flashes. Cascade Mountains and one of the many “waterfalls”. This type of waterfall is called a cascade since the water descends over a series of stepped rock formations creating a cascading effect rather than a single drop.

Single track roads in Isle of Skye wind about the landscape with very few travelers, an epic day that I will never forget. Walking in the tall grass around this #abandoned church in Swordale.

The rugged relief of Vasiliki Ridge augmented by the snow highlights the large hollow formation in one spire. Photographing this location many times in different light and conditions, it’s dynamic and always awe inspiring.

Cutthroat trout live in these high meadows, in what was once an alpine lake. The fact that they survive when by fall there is barely any water, and in winter it is covered with 50-60ft of snow in subzero temperatures, is astounding. Their future is increasingly threatened by the climate crisis.

The billionaires and politician aligned with them are actively pursuing the destruction of our life support systems for their financial gain. Elections have dire consequences, we are heading to a time where we can't even elect those that would fight against this abuse of power and greed.

We have but one livable planet, landing on a giant rock that does not sustain life is merely another grift. Protecting our ecosystems is far more attainable but doesn't have shiney rockets to feed the ego's of those who will make billions pretending they are saving humanity.
