As for the brown background, you could've used a different wall as a background. I honestly would suggest the wall/floor pack from Zombiller or Studio Backdrop from jdbeatz in SFM workshop. Wall/Floor has multiple backgrounds and Backdrop is a gray wallpaper, which makes lighting easier.

Oh boy, this is going to be difficult to explain without me showing you. For anime models, I just create 1 bright key light and 3 to 4 colored shadow lights (low intensity btw). This is also harder without editing like color correction because that would've fixed the too bright or dark problem.
