Any time I see a lopsided vote (and it doesn’t get more lopsided than one lone dissenter), I always want to know who and why. It surprises me how many news stories omit this.

Having said that … yikes.

Another memory of my first viewing:

Halfway through I thought, “Gee, this doesn’t really seem like a Hitchcock movie.”

And then the reveal happened and “Oh, this is totally a Hitchcock movie!”

The first time I saw it (in college, I think), I thought it had the worst ending of any movie I had ever seen.

My views have since matured, shall we say.

But I still hesitate to recommend it to people sometimes for that reason. I end up guessing how they might take it.

Guy killed and hacked into pieces? Things happen.

FBI executes a search warrant looking for documents? They’re out of control, pay me $250 million.

Maybe ask @vermontgmg.bsky.social who actually wrote a well-reviewed book about it a few years ago (which I haven't read yet but is definitely on my list).

This may be the first time I've seen the uncropped photo, and it seems a lot more obvious that it's a fake. The usual cropping out of the surrounding waves, leaving only the blurry "monster," makes it harder to judge the scale.

Sometimes I think Match Game was a gateway drug for dirty humor. (I'm sure I didn't get all the jokes as a kid.)

Still an icon in Metro Detroit, where it ended up as a display sign near Detroit Metropolitan Airport:

Only republished with his name in 2015, after his death.

The NYT review is worth a read:

This is exactly why they jumped on the Kimmel boycott bandwagon, of course: They're sucking up to Trump so that his FCC toady Brendan Carr will let them get bigger and more powerful.

Never gonna use a Zuck app, I don't care how much people like it. I've managed to live w/o Facebook, and I'm sure I'll be fine w/o WhatsApp.

That said, this increased competition should inspire Apple should to step up its game.

Knowing this fact once helped me recognize Milius — whom I had never seen — in a documentary before they flashed his name onscreen.

As a nerdy kid with glasses who loved to read, this episode hit me hard the first time I saw it … to the point that there may have been actual tears.

In the legendary series finale.

(I think LD&D were overused, or at least Larry’s introduction of them was.)

I remember being pleasantly surprised by it.

His later ones didn’t come close. Not saying it was his fault though; every time a new actor takes the role, his first picture seems to be the best.

This opening sequence was added at the request of network executives, who didn’t want people thinking these two guys were living together because they were … you know. 👀

Apparently Randall and Klugman, knowing this, would sometimes deliberately play scenes that way as a joke to frighten them.

Then I'll probably bail when my annual subscription runs out. I almost did that this year until I got a deal.

4. Sometimes I’m lying down and holding my Chromebook in place with one hand. Key combinations are inconvenient in that position. I realize that there’s only room for a certain number of keys, but delete is so basic and common IMHO that it shouldn’t require a combination.

1. Thank you
2. Great, another key combination to memorize
3. I still want a dedicated key

Love The President’s Analyst. Brilliant 60s satire.

Torn between liking the joke and being unhappy that we were denied a pic of Miss Lamarr.

Hollywood flacks called her “the most beautiful woman in the world,” and for once they might have been right.
