Reminds me of that short series on Hulu called “Devs,” with Nick Offerman as a similar megalomaniacal tech “guru.” The similarities of that show to now are creepy as hell.

It also affected memory and who was president when and who was responsible for it. In part, and I know this isn’t the only reason, people may have voted the way they did because it would bring them back to 2019 in a sense.

There is no discourse about the pandemic’s impacts in terms of PTSD. In the absence of understanding, people are left to grapple with this individually, which is terrible for PTSD.

I think the pandemic played a significant part in his re-election. The pandemic itself was a large collective trauma, with multiple traumas cascading from that (George Floyd, 1/6, etc etc).
