Helpful clarification from Catherine Walsh (2023):
The decolonial, in this sense, is not an academic fad or invention. Nor is it a condition of enlightenment, an arrival point of illumination, an identity or commodity to be possessed, or a new method to be applied. Likewise, and in my view, it cannot be part of a top-down project institutionalized and effectuated by schools or states. It is a project, process, practice, and praxis that is struggled, thought, and actioned from below in ways that put into question and tension the still-colonial projects of these societal structures and institutions — including educational ones.
