But the same poll says that 28% of voters view democrats positively and 53% of voters negatively. Republicans have a net-negative rating of 9 points, with 46% viewing the party negatively. Somehow it's still Dems fault. I don't understand people. It boggles my mind.

This is reality. To pretend it's not is to lose the thread. It's not defeatism, it just means there have to be different means to fight. Newsom has changed the story by reflecting the absurdity of Trump's posts. Recognizing that the "snowflakes" are on the right is part of the response.

Since Limbaugh this has been the game. The Sydney Sweeney "outrage" was basically the right saying "the left will hate this", shrugs from the left, and the right pretending the argument is coming from the left. It doesn't matter what is actually said when the information bubble takes over. 2/2

The short answer to your question is that what you're asking is impossible because the right will gin up outrage regardless. There will always be an extreme left (though a small percentage). The game since the 90's has been to amplify the most extreme left comment and attribute it to all. 1/

But note: He was ok with it if it took place over years (supported him notwithstanding that expectation). He hates that it's a bad, volatile investing environment. I doubt he's grown a conscience as much as it's just making his job hard.
