Murkowski voting for the Big Ugly Bill is way up there.

We're firmly in territory where anybody who is serving as an immigration officer at Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) is potentially breaking the law, if they carry out these or similar Trump edicts.

Any immigration officer with a shred of integrity should have already quit.

Yes, a modest (yet increasing) amount have been saying this, especially since the recent elections.

Remarkably, yes I am hardcore in wanting this fascist, corrupt, racist regime to end. Maybe you should be, too.

I'll believe the "Trump is over" narrative once actual shit happens.

To be clear, Fani Willis was a fool to have the affair with her subordinate, which then jeopardized this case. She should resign and be disbarred.

Then, she should join Merrick Garland in jail for being an enabler of the current regime.

Yes, this idea sounds very promising.

While there's benefits and drawbacks to every proposal, I have long thought we should also have a national primary.

Tom Nichols on the cusp of realizing that Republicans run up the national debt and that white supremacists are racist.

The laziness is with the former "fourth estate," which has wholeheartedly abdicated its sacred first amendment-protected *obligation* to be FREE (meaning, not indentured to oligarchs, clicks, access, or both-sideism).

Like Congress, the media should be fully accountable to the public they serve.

Bc their homeboy Trump made turkey too expensive to buy for Thanksgiving. Gotta push some options to us commoners.

The NYT will always be this administration's waterboy.

If I had a dollar for every time some website, media outlet, or influencer told me that MAGA is dead or Trump is finished, I'd be able to pay off the national debt.

Continued long-term and wide-ranging indictment of major media, swallowing up foreign entities now that there's basically no domestic ones left to corrupt.

Not to mention all the biblical passages about feeding the hungry and helping the poor.

“Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same” (Luke 3:11).

To the GOP Bible-thumpers, I simply show them this and say, "Ohhh, SNAP!"

A remembrance for a guy who was driving so dangerously that police couldn't keep up their pursuit of him? He had endangered others' lives with his driving!

Athletics in this country is so messed up. It provides no real benefit to society, but rewards & encourages bad behavior.

This chart would be infinitely more useful and interesting if it showed govt shutdown via political party control of the Houses of Congress.

Clinton brilliantly played Newt and Dole during the '95 / '96 shutdowns. Important to know that it was first GOP control of the House since 1955.

One could argue that they simply caved on their principles during times of divided government.

Are the Sulzbergers or any of their immediate compatriots in the Epstein files? Maybe someone similar? There's no way Epstein is an isolated case.

They also likely want to shift the focus away from other "elite sex traffickers."

Either way, they may covering not just for Trump, but themselves.

The Republicans and corporate media will use these "markers" as their evidence of American fascism... if / when Dems return to power.

Any action a future Dem administration takes will be hounded as a fast-track to authoritarianism.

It's the hypocritical GOP playbook.

Disclaimer: I am a pessimist, but also very much a realist.

I am not convinced we'll have elections again. If we do, what are the odds that they'll be "free and fair?"

This week's results were a dose of euphoria, but may also expedite attempts to further curtail voting next time.

I've closely studied politics for decades. There is no explanation for his / Schumer's / Jeffries' fecklessness.

This holiday season, I'm telling my grandkids this was Donald Trump.
