First trip up Tioga Road each year is better than Christmas! Spent the afternoon rambling around Tuolumne Meadows, looking at birds and flowers. I even did a little sketching, which isn't something I ever do out in the wild, but it was kinda fun! #Yosemite #NationalParks #Sketchbook #illustrator

Snapshots of Hetchy Hetchy the weekend before last. This was actually my first time out to Wapama Falls, and I have to say, Hetchy is super, super underrated! The falls were roaring, and we were in wildflower and butterfly heaven! 🦋 #yosemite #yosemitenationalpark #nationalparks #nature

Yesterday I posted about my lifer black-crowned night heron, found stealing someone's fried calamari from a restaurant table on the Oakland waterfront (and then struggling to eat it.) He is now my favorite individual bird, and I had to draw him. #birdart #birding #birds #sketchbook

Unexpected lifer black-crowned night heron, eating fried calamari off a restaurant table (Oakland, CA.) This bird has been on my wishlist for ages... What a hilarious first sighting. Don't leave your food (and purse??) unattended to grab another drink at the bar. #bird #birding
