MARYLAND has 136,837 Plug-In Vehicles registered as of May 31, 2025. Just 1,820 new registrations in May 2025. That’s well below the 3,100 added in May 2024 and the 2,169 in May 2023. April growth was also down year-over-year. Will continue to monitor these trends.

Marylanders - Remember those Shell Recharge Level 2 charging stations that used to be free? Not anymore! $0.44/kWh plus $1.49 session fee and $0.15/minute idle fee and presumably 6% Maryland sales tax on top of it all. 🤑

Maryland General Assembly promised us citizens that these utility-owned, ratepayer-funded EV chargers would have 97% uptime. Nope. No penalties either. HB834 2023
