While it’s a fun and enjoyable race to the finish, the characters are written a bit thin. Glen Powell’s a leading man that gets overshadowed by more interesting folks that also never get a full chance to shine. It ranks among the lower tier of Wright’s filmography.

As far as animal movies go, My Penguin Friend is not a hugely special film but it nevertheless will warm you up with its true story narrative. Leave it to Jean Reno and a penguin to lift up everyone’s spirits in the feel good movie of the year.

There’s things to like about this film like a raw enigmatic performance from Jennifer Lawrence and some beautiful camera shots, but Die My Love is lacking in some much needed narrative context in favor of a more stylized viewing experience

Iranian cinema has never been better. Jafar Panahi brings us a small but powerful film with a lot to say. The film might not show much on screen but it says everything thanks to its fearless actors and director.

A hilarious and modern sort of remix on Misery that toys around with modern relationships and insecurities we all share as young adults. It may not hit the landing as well as the build up but Sophie Brooke’s originality makes for a fun and engaging film.
