They grade you in school on technical marks. Everything held up against a template of, "Done the most correctly." But it turns out in the real world, you just have to respond promptly to the teacher, look busy, and not ask questions.

Unpopular opinion: graphic software shouldn't let you select a font size smaller than 6pt. I'm so tired of designers trying to smoosh too much info into too tiny a space.

It's not talked about, it's generally not even CONSIDERED what some jobs cost you to begin them. I am still waiting for my first paycheck to clear bank approval, still waiting for training travel expenses to be repaid. But I have savings and credit enough at my age to cover that. At 20? No way.

I'm genuinely surprised at the number of companies that aren't aware that the Washington Minimum Wage Act (WMWA) overtime exemption standard is $67,728 annually for this year. If you work more than 40 hours a week, and are salaried less than that, you get overtime pay for hours over 40 each week.

Got fired today for, "Being Unhappy." I haven't been unemployed in the holiday season since I was in college. Friends are leaving the state. People I thought were friends hardly respond to me anymore. And my latest employer punishes me for not being cheery enough. I don't feel #blessed.

Also the 90's suppressed lesbian energy is OFF THE CHARTS in this series. I can count four different times there's a big storyline of all the lead ladies pining for a "hot guy" and a big reveal of, "WAIT THAT'S JUST A SUAVE BUTCH LADY? (tiny voice: 'still hot though')" lol

Continuing my watch thru of Sailor Moon as I do computer tasks. Sailor Moon S is BONKERS, even compared with other seasons. This bad guy is a possessed puzzle of a white fluffy cat? It turns into a bright purple lolli cat lady who can reassemble herself? The creativity is off the charts.

Finally getting a chance to watch Sailor Moon past the Sailor Moon R 90's Dic cliff. And my gosh, Chibi Usa's transformation to Dark Lady is kinda hysterical. "I fell down in the rain this one time, and Mommy and Daddy didn't pick me up. NO ONE loves me. Gonna go full sith now!"
Something feels REALLY up with the job market right now? Because all the job sites I'm on keep cross-promoting the SAME singular graphic design posting that 5 recruiting agencies are all listing. 1 job circling for 500 applicants is never a good ratio.

The "filling out lots of forms and scratching my head how to describe myself" part of the job hunt process continues. Today's gufaw was checking a box that says, "I have skill at [CASH REGISTER]" because that is the most robo sentence I've approved all week.
