I moved them out of the lab and put them in a more domestic setting inspired by Zootopia around 2015. I thought it would be a fun juxtaposition if Bart was a small, tidy geek while Rita was a big, stinky/crude sewer rat. Their personalities really came through after that, I think.

I always do Dee with these, so here's two others:
I made Bart & Rita in 2009 as sort of Pinky & the Brain clones. Bart wasn't "evil" and Rita wasn't dumb though. They just sorta lived in a lab and did experiments with each other. Not a lot going on. Rita also got thin at some point.

Around 2012ish, I wanted to make him more of my own. I briefly toyed with the idea of making him a soot spirit who's immune to fire (hence the cigar) but it didn't stick.
His eyes became much thinner after receiving a piece of art from @/rumwik and I really liked the interpretation =)

In 2008, there was a guy in Roblox who had a bunch of recolored Nintendo enemies as OCs. I really liked Waddle Dee from Kirby 64 so I decided to make one myself. Cleverly named him Dee.

In the Kirby series, Dark Matter creatures' entire face is usually just one big eye. Sometimes they have little false eyes while the real eye is disguised as a mouth.
