I say this because the items on the list (except for 2 that I'm not sure about) describe very well the US as they have always been for the past 40 yrs. Why "chilling" suddenly? It was always like this.

Your feeling "right" when you put on a frilly pink shirt and high-heels does not mean that you were mean to be a woman. It just means you have the urges to wear those things. By all means, wear those things. Ane be happy. Just don't insinuate it is anything other than your personal preferences.

If all you wanted to do is to have "feminine" appearances & mannerisms (which have been defined by the western cultures, and by men, mostly), and possibly have female body parts, I see it as a form of misogynistic fetish. Cosplay.

They also happily condemn the govt for regulating the markets so the "greedy" can't set the prices. Very puzzling.

This is to say that I do feel like I'm putting myself in an unhealthy bubble when I hang out with this particular group of friends.

The friends I've been camping with for the past 20 yrs are now bringing multiple kids + $400 coolers with them. And when they arrive, they are all jet-lagged because they have just come back from vacays in Polynesia, Europe, Africa, etc. with their young kids.
