I was looking for cheap stepper motors (there are none, really), and suggestions are to pull them from old printers, etc. I’m not sure I’m that guy quite yet.

Fellow researchers at work have been recently interested in the future of research at companies. I feel like I’ve been having this discussion pretty much on-and-off for the past four years, but for sure AI has made designer-led or PM-led research more than ‘good enough’.

I’m going to try a new way to social media. Privileging people who say things that come from them. Downgrading ppl who are repeaters of other people. Encouraging interaction. Discouraging shitposting. Let’s see how this goes for a while.

One thing I really miss about academia is the ability to just post what’s on your mind.

Working for a company that is Very Online, knowing that your management cares about everything said about them, it is just not as easy to carve out space.
