Insanely true!!! I'm always really sad when someone's only experience is the 3D version or god forbid it, even prefer it. The famicom version has top of the line technology + in-game cutscenes and crazy good, moody music for every occasion under the sun.

Adding a hooded glowing eyes sorcerer is a distinct improvement. The rest, uuuuhhhhhh... there was certainly a problem among RPGs of trying to exactly standardise character portraits, framing/pose/expression/space taken all. Sad!
