I started this linocut project at the beginning of 2024 as something that I could chip away at on occasion over that year. Nearly two years later, I have moved house twice, neglected it for months and months on end, and had several different ideas of what the final print should be. Yet it persists.

Haven't been home so had to take Derek on holiday with me, and decided to document it for the nephew who showed me how to build him.

To cheer my friend up from the inevitable crushing misery of returning to work after our weekend in Alicante, I've been sending her photos from the trip with quotes from the film we watched while we were there.

Green Man is still the most generous, friendly, perfectly sized festival I know. Full of Welshness and gloriously eclectic line-up. We pin our wishes to the Green Man and they burn him at the end.

In a work quiz on Sunday, the picture round (images of Plymouth, guess the decade) contained one of something that nobody in my team recognised...

Holy fuck. I've never seen GB News content before. How do they get away with this shit? They can't be racist because they're... wearing pink?

Today I went to Delabole to work on the composition of a piece of music that will be performed in a chamber underground.

I'll write more about how and why some other time, but how perfect is Delabole (chosen only for convenience) as a place to think about human relationships with geology?

Even though I've moved to Plymouth, my studio is still in Cornwall.

This weekend I got to sit in its window chatting to passing friends, then watch a bit of gig, then sneak away on my own to watch this rise from the top of an overgrown redoubt. Lucky doesn't touch it. 🖤🤍🖤

The continental crust is thick and mainly granite and the oceanic crust is thin basalt lava rock, and we have oceans where they are because the basalt is denser so it sits lower. And I'm like "so who are these fellas?". And I can't wait to find out.
