The Portland Lesbian Choir builds harmony and community through compelling musical performances. We elevate LGBTQIA2S+ voices, emphasize equity, and encourage collaboration, growth and service. We’ve been singing out since 1986!
Today, PLC celebrates Juneteenth, the day that marks the end of slavery in the United States. We recognize the vast contributions Black Americans have made in a multitude of disciplines. We honor the resilience and strength of Black Americans and recommit to the ongoing fight for equality.

Since March 2024, PLC has made 1,297 sack lunches and donated $3,058 in support of Transition Projects which provides critical support services to Portland’s homeless population.

We had our first rehearsal with the Rose City Pride Bands yesterday. It was so amazing to hear how everything will come together for the Our New World joint concert on March 30 at the Schnitz

It’s getting close to showtime and we’re getting excited for Our New World. We had our first joint rehearsal, and the sound just gave me the shivers up and down my spine. WOW! It’s such a rich sound. If You’re Out There is all about rallying people to join in the fight for justice and equality

The Portland Lesbian Choir has hired its first executive director! Hayley Andrews will assume the role of ED beginning March 18, 2025.
Hayley has a wealth of relevant experience in both profit and nonprofit organizations. We look forward to working with her!

The Portland Lesbian Choir is proud to celebrate Black History Month, a time to learn about and rejoice in Black history and its significance. One way the choir does this is by remaining committed to our Black Voices Matter pledge. We will be singing To Sit and Dream by Rosephanye Powell.

The Portland Lesbian Choir recognized our Artistic Director Mary McCarty (Right) for her exemplary 10 year anniversary leading our choir through its growing pains. We are so lucky to have her as we continue to grow in size and musicality.
