Perfect. I'm seeing her in Manchester 🙌

Fab, I'm not sure whereabouts in the world you are, but the tour dates I've seen are for the UK.

It's a really lovely album. I discovered Lucy only during the past year and have since bought her other albums. 'No Words Left' is definitely recommended if you've yet to hear that one. She's touring next year BTW.

Yup, I was working up there at various times between about 1997 and 2013. I've only been up to Edinburgh since then, sadly.

I've never made it to either of those other two. I remember seeing bands at the Carling Academy, Barfly, and The Garage. There were likely one or two other places that I visited only once, though I have no idea if any of these places are still going.

It's a great venue. I saw quite a few bands in there when I was working up that way. I went to several other venues, but that's the one that sticks in my mind the most.

😄😄 I love it there too, it's been a while since I was last there though. I used to love getting into King Tut's.

There'll be fights breaking out in Glasgow if There Will Be Fireworks' next album is entitled 'Starlight Assembly' 😄

I was heavily into goth music in the second half of the eighties, and The Mission were a formidable live act back then. They remain one of the bands whom I've seen more than any other.

I was genuinely intrigued by this question, so I've taken a look at my Top Ten.

The Mission 132
Editors 91
The Chameleons 80
Coldplay 73
Kasabian 69
All About Eve 56
Doves 53
Duran Duran 50
Gemma Hayes 46
Epic45 44

It really was, Nick. Boo is a complete comedian with a dry sense of humour, and his songs are completely timeless - plus 'Patience Of Angels' and 'Bell, Book, and Candle' both featured in the set too.

Indeed, I've seen him a good many times. I'm delighted to report that he was completely on form this evening - and cracking a fair few jokes as usual too 😁

Wonderful, have a great time, Vincent! Sounds like you have a good night ahead.
October 31, 2025 at 11:35 PM
You've done really well there, Vincent! I think the Enta Fen CD is the one that I'm struggling to track down. I managed to locate a copy of the 'Lost' EP some years back.

Boo Hewerdine, a singer/songwriter originally in a band called The Bible (check out a track called 'Cigarette Girls' by the latter).

I'm at a gig tonight, fellas. Pretty close to you two - in The Wirral 😉
October 31, 2025 at 7:31 PM
😄😄😄 I've got my eye on your pint, Vincent 😁
October 31, 2025 at 7:30 PM
If you're getting a round in, Vincent... 😉😄
October 31, 2025 at 5:41 PM
It's been on the cards for ages to get over. Don't worry, you'll be the first to know 😉

That will be a great day, I saw the line-up for the Ireland dates and it's fantastic 👌
October 29, 2025 at 10:04 PM
Really good. A shortish set at around 40 mins upstairs at the Rough Trade shop, then signing record sleeves.

They mainly played songs from the new album, ending on Endless Deathless.

Your post is timely, Ricky. I've literally just watched them in Liverpool! I'm currently waiting to meet them 😊
October 29, 2025 at 8:52 PM
Very possibly so. They're a really exciting band to watch, lots of layers to their sound.
