Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - While not up there with the best Metroid games this is still absolutely fantastic, it’s so good to have Samus back in 3D! I didn’t mind the companions but can see why some later missions caused some upset. Will absolutely be playing this again and again over the years

Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo - randomly picked this up for around £3.50 in a sale and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought i ever would. The game has little to do with the film but is a solid adventure game.

The Outer Worlds 2 - I really enjoyed this. It’s better than the original game in nearly every single way… But I ordered the companions of the original a lot more. Obsidian strike again with another brilliant RPG!

Dragon Quest III 2D-HD - Really glad I played through this, it’s really clear why it is held in such high regard and as a bit of game changer for JRPG’s. The class based system and open world were a delight to play. Looking forward to playing I & II now.

I really enjoyed this, however the Dispatching side of the game is the bit that got repetitive for me. I really liked the characters and story and its presented beautifully.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment - This is by far my favourite of the Warriors games. It came at exactly the right time for me, when I needed to just mindlessly slaughter hundreds without having to think. Enjoyed it a lot, still so much side content that I don’t know if I’ll ever complete.

The first game is this collection is great, a solid 8 out of 10. The second game is horrendous and I should have stopped playing after a couple of hours, instead of forcing my way through. Awful QTE’s and motion controls make a boring story worse.

The Switch 2 is shit, there’s nothing to play on it.

It’s beautiful 👀

I played the first episode of Dispatch this morning and thought it was fantastic. Instantly brilliant characters, it’s funny and it looks stunning.

Trails in the Sky 1C - My first game in this series and really enjoyed it. It’s a slow burn building the world and characters throughout. A really good ending and looking forward to what comes next.

Keeper - Absolutely stunning game that gets better and better as it goes along. Only 5 hours long but I was hooked as the gameplay evolves and evolves as you progress. Can’t recommend this enough tbh, will definitely be up there for GOTY for me.

Xbox should be ashamed of themselves… Again

It’s so pretty! These are all early game screen shots of Keeper, don’t look up too much info about this game - just play it!

Spider-Man 2 - I really enjoyed this. The combat is absolutely the worst part of the game - clicky, repetitive and QTE’s galore. Outside that story was great, gameplay is great and the city was a joy to explore. Looked stunning on my PC with all the Ray Tracing switched on.

Mafia: The Old Country - I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. I loved the setting of the game, it looks great and tells a great story. A short 15 hour game that didn’t overstay its welcome.

Need to stop spending money. Also me:

Mouthwashing - A really weird story driven indie game, told in a non linear way. It only takes around 2.5 hours to complete and I’d recommend trying to do it one sitting. Can’t really say much about it without spoiling but I would recommend people play this.

Sea of Stars - I really enjoyed this, the story and music are fantastic. It also looks fantastic. A few things really bugged me 1. The lack of direction on where to go, put the game down for a day or two and come back and you’re lost. 2. The lock system, especially in the DLC, which I gave up on.

Raidou: Remastered. I don’t think I’d heard of Raidou before this. It’s a good game that is clearly made by Atlas. There are a lot of similarities to Persona ( and SMT??), but the combat is action based rather than turn based. I’d have preferred more varied detective gameplay between battles.

I liked this game a lot more than I expected to. It was full of charm and I ended up starting and finishing it in one day. Some great ideas and gameplay in here that are used once or twice then thrown away for the next idea. It’s very easy, but I understand I’m not the target market for the game.
