Marsh Marigolds (Caltha palustris) have started to bloom!
Close-up view of bright yellow marsh marigold flowers. Each has approximately 6 petals. This marsh marks gold plant has several stems full of flowers but far viewer leaves than other plants in the same area. Two marsh marigold plants next to each other. The one on the left has far more open flowers but fewer leaves. The one on the right has many more leaves forming a distinct mound. So far its flowers are slower to emerge.

Bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis) celebrating a lovely day. A few days ago it was only little nubbins emerging from the leaf litter.
